Women of St. Luke’s

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA*)

Purpose statement of the Women of the ELCA:
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to the discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, and society, and the world.

*All women who are members of the congregation are a part of WELCA.

Mary/Martha Circle
This group of women meets in the New Life Center from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Members bring their own lunches and the hostess provides dessert.

WELCA Board meets on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 am in the Gathering Area.

Church Women United
The women of St. Luke’s are also invited and encouraged to participate in Church Women United, “a movement that brings together women of diverse races, cultures and traditions in closer Christian fellowship, prayer, advocacy, and action for peace with justice in the world.
