Women’s Ministry

At St. Luke’s Downtown, we honor and respect women as they serve in many roles in the congregation including leadership positions on council, in worship and education, and throughout the church.

We are especially thankful for the Women of the ELCA chapter at St. Luke’s. Throughout the year, the Women of the ELCA host educational and fellowship events designed to foster greater love for Jesus, increased discipleship for women and men, and joyful celebrations just for fun. Check out the Upcoming Events for more information on Women of ELCA events.

Purpose statement of the Women of the ELCA:
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to the discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, and society, and the world.

*All women who are members of the congregation are a part of WELCA.

St. Luke’s is part of the Northwestern Ohio Synod chapter of the Women of the ELCA. Throughout the year,
