Ministry with Adults
Eucharistic Ministers
St. Luke’s has an active program of Eucharistic Ministers. These folks volunteer to take the gift of Jesus’ body and blood to those who cannot be present at the Sunday service because of illness or age. Consecrated by the Pastor as part of the service, the bread and wine are taken to the homebound, those in care facilities and other locations in order to bring them the healing and transforming power of the Sacrament.
If you feel God’s call to this ministry, please contact the church office or the Pastor.
Adult Education
Adult Bible Study
Each Sunday morning, 9:00 a.m., those seeking to expand their understanding of the Scriptures, share their faith, and discover some fun time of fellowship gather to study and discuss the readings for that Sunday’s service. Led by a dedicated and faithful laywoman, the class not only reflects on the Word of God, it guides the adults gathered toward ways of engaging that Word in their daily lives.
Open to any adult, the class meets in the Pastor’s Office just to the left of the Gathering area. You are invited to attend.
Special Education Events
Periodically, special educational events are offered. This fall, the Pastor led a class on the Reformation in Germany. For five sessions, the students learned about the political, economic, scientific, and ecclesiastic issues that led up Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. From time to time, other educational events are offer, and they open to anyone wishing to attend.
